Cardiff linked with Wanyama swoop

Cardiff City are reportedly considering a bid for Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Wanyama, 21, has been courted by a number of Premier League clubs, with Southampton believed to have made a £12 million bid for the Kenya international.

However, the Daily Record reports that Wanyama favours a move to newly promoted Cardiff, who it is claimed are also willing to meet Celtic's asking price.

Wanyama has starred for the Hoops since arriving at Parkhead in a £900,000 move from Belgian side Germinal Beerschot two years ago, with his displays in last season's Champions League particularly impressive.

The midfielder has previously been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool, but would be willing to settle for a lesser Premier League side in order to test himself in England.
