Chelsea have completed the transfer of forward Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal.

A deal was agreed for Schurrle on June 13 and the forward has now put pen to paper on personal terms with Jose Mourinho's side ahead of the 2013-14 season.

The 22-year-old will wear the No. 14 shirt at Stamford Bridge.

"I am so happy now I have signed and it is an honour for me to play for this club, with this team and for these great fans," Schurrle said. "I am really looking forward to it."

Schurrle has scored seven goals in 24 senior appearances for Germany, and hit 11 Bundesliga goals as Leverkusen finished third last season.

Chelsea have been linked with making further attacking reinforcements, with Edinson Cavani of Napoli and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney, amid uncertainty Fernando Torres' future.
