Swansea have confirmed the signing of Espanyol defender Jordi Amat for a fee of £2.5 million, subject to the player passing a medical.

Laudrup, who has previously coached in Spain with Getafe and Mallorca, has raided La Liga for a number of players since taking over at Swansea last summer.

The Capital One Cup holders have also tabled club-record offers - thought to be around £10 million - for Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis and Vitesse Arnhem's Wilfried Bony, as Laudrup looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2013-14 campaign.

Bony's agent, Francis Kacou, Arnhem newspaper De Gelderlander a £10.2 million deal had been done for the Ivory Coast international but Vitesse posted a statement on their website which read: "Various media have reported that Wilfried Bony is to transfer to Premier League club Swansea City. This message is incorrect.

"There is admittedly much interest in the striker, the top scorer in the Eredivisie last season, and Swansea City are one of the interested clubs. However, a transfer is not the case.''
