Touted Spurs target Belhanda joins Dynamo Kiev
Montpellier's Morocco international midfielder Younes Belhanda has moved to Dynamo Kiev.
Belhanda, 23, who came through Montpellier's youth academy to play an integral role in the club's surprise 2011-12 Ligue 1 title win, had been told he could leave after owner Louis Nicollin said his wages had become too much for a side without European football next season.
The playmaker, who had two years left on his Montpellier deal, was presented to Dynamo Kiev's fans along with fellow new arrivals Dieumerci Mbokani and Jeremain Lens at half-time in Sunday's friendly with Zenit St Petersburg.
Neither the duration of Belhanda's contract with the Ukrainian club nor the transfer fee they paid has been revealed, but Nicollin said last month that, although he rated the player at €15 million, he would accept €12 million.
Nicollin's son, Laurent, told Midi Libre last week that two offers had been received.
Belhanda, who contributed ten goals and two assists last season, had reportedly agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce in January, only for Montpellier to veto the move, citing concerns about payment.
At one time linked to Arsenal and Tottenham, the player had told L'Equipe in May: "I want to go to England or Germany. The time has come to discover something new to continue my education."
