Edinson Cavani's agent has met with Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo in Paris to discuss a potential €63 million move for the in-demand Napoli striker, French media are reporting.

Under the headline, 'Cavani, PSG's number one target', Le Parisien claimed the Uruguay international's representative, Pierpaolo Triulzi, jetted into the French capital on Monday morning for an evening meeting with Leonardo.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Triulzi, who was in London reportedly for talks with Chelsea just over a week ago, is due in Naples on Tuesday to discuss the situation with Napoli.

Le Parisien also claimed that Leonardo spoke with Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis about a potential PSG move for Cavani, even before Laurent Blanc was appointed coach at the Parc des Princes last week.

The French champions would have to meet, or come close to paying, the €63m fee which would trigger the release clause in the striker's contract, which runs until 2017.

His arrival would give Blanc greater options in attack with neither Ezequiel Lavezzi, picked up from Napoli last summer, nor Kevin Gameiro proving adequate foil for Zlatan Ibrahimovic last season.

The prolific Cavani, 26, who scored 29 times in 33 Serie A appearances last term, joined his family for a holiday after scoring twice in his country's third-place play-off defeat to Italy in the Confederations Cup last weekend.

Cavani has been targeted by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, as well as Spanish giants Real Madrid.

And he told media following Uruguay's penalty shoot-out loss: "I'm going on holiday with my family, then I'll return to Italy to look at the whole situation."
