Shelvey joins Swansea in £6m deal
Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has left Liverpool for Swansea in a £6 million deal after agreeing a four-year contract.
The Capital One Cup winners outbid Crystal Palace for the England international, who has spent three years at Anfield.
The 21-year-old agreed personal terms at the Liberty Stadium just hours after the bid was accepted.
It is thought that Shelvey, who lost his place in the Liverpool team in the second half of last season, was keen to leave Anfield to increase his chances of playing first-team football.
Shelvey, a £1.7m signing from Charlton in 2010, scored seven goals in 69 games for Liverpool and became a regular in the opening months of last season.
But he dropped down the pecking order thereafter and Liverpool were keen to raise money for Brendan Rodgers' transfer budget.
Norwich and West Ham were also linked with Shelvey, who made his England debut against San Marino in October 2012, but the firm bids came from Palace and Swansea.
