PSV Eindhoven midfielder and Manchester United target Kevin Strootman revealed his future may lie away from the Eredivisie giants despite the club previously stating the 23-year-old was not for sale.

PSV have endured a turbulent period recently with Dries Mertens, Erik Pieters and Jeremain Lens all departing the Philips Stadium.

And according to Sky Sports, the club, hoping to build for the upcoming season off the back of Strootman, are refusing to let the Netherlands international head towards the exit door.

But Strootman has hinted he could be heading for a new challenge, revealing a number of clubs had contacted PSV about his availability.

"There are several clubs interested but only when they reach an agreement with PSV do I come into the picture," he told Voetbal International.

"This is not to say that any are in the world's top six.

"There is also interest from Russia, but that is not an option for me. I do not make hasty decisions about my future.

"The opinion of Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal is also very important with the World Cup in Brazil next year."
