Shakhtar confirm sale of Mkhitaryan

Shakhtar Donetsk have announced the sale of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Borussia Dortmund for €27.5 million - dashing Liverpool's hopes of landing the striker.
Mkhitaryan, 24, had been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool only for Dortmund to emerge as the favourites for his signature.
On Monday, it was confirmed that the Armenia international was on the brink of joining last season's Champions League runners-up on a four-year contract.
And on Tuesday, Shakhtar announced on their official website that "all the necessary formalities" had been resolved for the transfer to go ahead.
