Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has again reiterated his belief that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo "will retire" in the Spanish capital.

The 28-year-old Ronaldo has long been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu, with a move back to Manchester United frequently speculated with the player and club still at an impasse over a new contract.

But Perez, who last month was forced to respond to an 'unhappy' Ronaldo, again exuded confidence that the world star would finish his career in the colours of Los Blancos.

"The person who wants to retire at Real Madrid is Ronaldo, and Real want him to retire here too," Perez told broadcaster Univision.

"There haven't been any negotiations [on a new deal] because he is on holiday. Be in no doubt, Cristiano will retire here because he wants to. Just as [Zinedine] Zidane and other great players have done."
