Flamini: I want to win Premier League
Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has said he would consider a return to the Premier League.
Flamini, 29, left Arsenal for AC Milan in 2008 but his time in Italy has been blighted by injuries and a failure to replicate the form he demonstrated with the Gunners.
The Frenchman has been offered a new contract by Milan, but he is open to leaving on a free transfer for England.
He told SunSport: "Milan offered me a contract for two years but I need to take my time and make the right decision.
"I've been in Italy for five years, I've had a great time and learnt a lot. But I miss England and I want to win the Premier League.
"It has a special place in my heart. I like the pace and the physicality of English football and I like that every game is very open.
"I've had some good offers but I want to take my time and decide what direction I will take. What's important is to be in a team which has a good project, good ambitions and abilities.
"I miss the Premier League but other countries are possible, too. I don't want to close any doors."
Flamini also reflected on his four years at Arsenal, expressing his disappointment at their failure to defeat Barcelona in the 2006 Champions League final.
"I want to win trophies," he said. "I am a competitor. My biggest regret was when I was with Arsenal and we lost the Champions League final against Barcelona.
"As well as the Premier League, I want to win the Champions League. When you are a competitor, what you want is to be successful. And to be successful, you want to win trophies."
