Vidic misses tour through injury
Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic will miss the club's tour of East Asia and Australia.
The 31-year-old Serbian international has been left out of the touring squad, with the club refusing to reveal the reasons behind the omission. However, numerous reports are linking Vidic's absence to the treatment he has been receiving on his troublesome knee.
Robin van Persie and David de Gea will both miss the club's opening game against Singha All Stars in Bangkok on Saturday as they have been given extra time off.
However, both players are expected to be back for the second game against the A-League All-Stars in Sydney a week later.
Chris Smalling (foot), Ashley Young (ankle) and Nani (broken nose) also miss out for the game in Bangkok due to injury.
Japan international Shinji Kagawa will also be a late arrival after being given extra time off following the Confederations Cup, linking up with the squad in Japan on July 21.
Wayne Rooney has been included in the squad despite transfer speculation still linking the England international away from Old Trafford.
