Manchester City target Alvaro Negredo has conceded his future may lie away from Sevilla as a transfer to the Premier League edges nearer.

Negredo, 27, scored 25 La Liga goals last season - almost half of Sevilla's tally - as the club edged into the Europa League qualifiers due to the ineligibility of Malaga and Rayo Vallecano. He has scored 70 league goals in four seasons since turning down Hull City in favour of a move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Although Sevilla have stated they have yet to receive a bid from City, their signing of Colombian striker Carlos Bacca from Club Brugge for around €7 million on Tuesday suggests Los Rojiblancos are already planning for life without Negredo.

"Right now I'm at Sevilla and I like it very much," he told Sevilla's official website. "If I stay then that will be fine, but if I leave then it will be because it benefits both the club and myself.

"I'm happy on a personal level but collectively we have not achieved the goals we wanted. In the end, no matter how well you do individually, if collectively you don't achieve anything then the individual counts for nothing."
