Romelu Lukaku insists he has returned to Chelsea with the aim of becoming a first team regular under Jose Mourinho.

The Belgium international impressed on a stellar loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season - where he scored 17 goals and was instrumental in the Baggies clinching eighth spot in the Premier League.

And the 20-year-old has revealed his desire to be a part of Mourinho's plans at Stamford Bridge following a successful campaign at West Brom.

"Yeah we spoke and I want to keep it private because when you have confidential talks with the manager, it has to stay between you and him," Lukaku said to Sky Sports News.

"We had a good talk and now it's up to me."

Lukaku has only made eight appearances for Chelsea since signing for the Blues back in 2011, and the striker is determined to work his way into the starting line-up after ruling out another loan move for the time being.

"No, not at the moment," Lukaku said on whether he would want to go out on loan next season.

"You never know in football but my mind is in Chelsea now and I have come back to do well in pre-season and if I do a good pre-season, I think I will have a place in the squad and hopefully in the starting 11.

"Last year I had a great season at West Brom and I think have the qualities to do it here, but it is up to me. If I don't do well here, then loan again."
