Crystal Palace are set to complete the signing of midfielder Jose Campana from Sevilla on Tuesday, after agreeing a fee with the Spanish club.

Sevilla club president Jose Maria del Nido confirmed on Monday that the 20-year-old had turned down a new contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, preferring instead to fly to London to complete a deal with the newly-promoted Premier League side.

Palace are set to pay £1.75 million for the Spain Under-20 international, who has reportedly already agreed personal terms.

"We made Campana an offer to renew his contract which he didn't accept, he wanted to leave and we accepted that his agent put him on the market and an agreement has been reached with Crystal Palace for two million euros, plus add-ons and a percentage of a future transfer,'' Del Nido said.

``It seems likely that he'll sign today and will travel to the UK tomorrow to have his medical.''

Campana made 20 appearances for Sevilla in the two years since breaking into the first-team setup, but could not face another season of limited action in La Liga - believing Palace will offer him a better chance of regular first-team action.

"Campana was going to be a star and unfortunately it hasn't worked out here," Del Nido added. "We've done everything possible to make it happen.

"We want Campana to do well at Crystal Palace because he's one of our products. Hopefully he succeeds in England.''
