Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has told Express he believes Andre Schurrle can become a world-class player after signing for Chelsea.

Germany forward Schurrle finally made the move to Stamford Bridge last month, having long been linked with a switch to the Premier League.

In an interview with German tabloid Express, Voller explained how he feels the 22-year-old could become one of the world's finest players if he fulfils his potential at Chelsea.

"Andre can become an absolute world-class player," Voller said. "He needs to gain more ruggedness and has to become more forceful. That is important - most of all in England. If he gains on those areas he will become a big player."

Should Germany qualify, Schurrle will likely be in the squad for the 2014 World Cup, and Voller is buoyed by the national team's quality.

"In my opinion we have the best squad of all time," Voller, who coached Germany to the World Cup final in 2002, said.

"There have never been so many young and good German players. We have a great chance to win the title. Of course, luck and details play a role as well. I furthermore believe that the other teams will fear us more than we fear them."
