City complete signing of Negredo
Alvaro Negredo has completed his £24 million move to Manchester City as Manuel Pellegrini has secured one of his major striking targets.
The Spain international has joined the FA Cup finalists from Sevilla, becoming City's third summer signing.
City are also closing in on Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, who would cost them £23m and take their total spending to £90m.
Negredo, 27, passed a medical on Thursday before City, who are in South Africa, finalised his move.
He was the fourth-highest scorer in La Liga last season, behind Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao, getting 25 goals for Sevilla.
Negredo, who was Sevilla's record signing, scored 70 goals in four seasons for them and has struck six times in 14 matches for Spain.
He told Sevilla's official website earlier this week: "For four years I have been very happy, but I think my time was here over. I am happy to go to a big team."
Negredo will link up with his former Sevilla team-mate Jesus Navas at the Etihad Stadium after the winger signed for City last month. Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho is their other close-season addition.
Negredo has been granted the No. 9 shirt that has been unused since Emmanuel Adebayor left City.
