One of the trickiest problems facing new Fulham owner Shahid Khan following his takeover is what to do with the statue of Michael Jackson erected by his predecessor Mohamed Fayed.

The statue, which was unveiled in 2011, has been a subject of debate with fans ever since and Khan told the Sun that it has become an unexpected distraction.

"You have to take a deep breath and reflect," he admitted. "I'm in a Lotus pose and doing my yoga meditation. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal to the fans or the chairman.

"We have to preserve and respect history but we also have to move forward. I am going to reflect on it, listen to the fans and then decide."

Fayed maintained earlier this month that the statue would stay, jokingly threatening to shave off Khan's trademark moustache if he removed it.
