Demba Ba has dismissed speculation over his Chelsea future, insisting: "I will stay."

Ba, a January signing from Newcastle, has been linked with a move to Anzhi Makhachkala, with the forward said to be surplus to requirements under Jose Mourinho.

Romelu Lukaku has returned from a highly successful loan spell with West Brom and excelled in the 8-1 victory over BNI Indonesia All-Stars this week. Mourinho, meanwhile, has made clear his desire to bring Wayne Rooney in from Manchester United.

However, the Portuguese has said he does not intend to sell any players, and Ba has no concerns over the prospective arrival of Rooney.

"I will stay," Ba said. "I think we need competition and we welcome the best players in this club. More competition is going to make me better anyway."

He said "all players want to play" but added: "We will all work in the same direction, for the club, to try and win the games."
