Nikica Jelavic was on target twice as Everton beat Championship side Blackburn 3-1 in a friendly on Saturday.

Roberto Martinez's men went ahead after 25 minutes through Kevin Mirallas' deflected shot with Jelavic's header making it 2-0 10 minutes into the second half.

The Croatia international struck again after 77 minutes, this time with his left foot, with Scott Dann's reply coming too late for Blackburn.

Swansea warmed up for their Europa League clash against Malmo with a convincing 3-0 victory over Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

Wilfried Bony marked his first start for the Swans following his arrival from Vitesse Arnhem by teeing up two goals, as Michael Laudrup's men ended their pre-season unbeaten.

Michu scored the opener after 11 minutes before Bony set up strikes for Jonjo Shelvey after 56 minutes and Pablo Hernandez three minutes later.

Swansea will take on Malmo on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League third-round qualifier.

West Brom were 2-0 winners over Derby, with a spectacular 25-yard strike from Graham Dorrans setting the Baggies on their way after 39 minutes at Pride Park.

Markus Rosenberg then wrapped up the victory in the final minute with his second pre-season goal.

Premier League new boys Hull slipped to a 2-1 loss at Birmingham thanks to goals from Matt Green (12) and Andrew Shinnie (47).

Sone Aluko replied from the penalty spot after 75 minutes but the Tigers could not add to their tally.

Elsewhere, new signing Radamel Falcao was on target for Monaco as Claudio Ranieri's side overcame Leicester 3-0 at The King Power Stadium.

Layvin Kurzawa opened the scoring for the French outfit in the eighth minute, before Falcao doubled their advantage. Marcel Tisserand completed the victory late on.
