Claudio Ranieri has denied that Monaco are interested in Nani, but left open the possibility of another big transfer this summer.

The Portuguese star has yet to sign a new contract at Manchester United, with the French club reportedly interested in a £10 million move for the winger.

The club have already spent around £120 million this summer on the likes of Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.

Although Ranieri stated their business is probably finished, he hinted that could change. As well as Nani, Monaco are understood to have had intensive negotiations about a move for Hulk from Porto.

"No, no, no, just rumours," Ranieri said when asked about Nani after his side's 3-0 friendly win over Leicester. "At this moment we are finished our market but until the end something could happen but no Nani at the moment."

Despite their lavish expenditure this summer, Ranieri downplayed suggestions that Monaco may be immediately capable of challenging for the French title.

The Italian commandeered their Ligue 2 title victory and promotion last season, and claims they still have to build from that lower base. He is, however, aiming for Champions League qualification.

"We are at the beginning, at the basement, then slowly, slowly," Ranieri said. "I hope, I hope [Monaco can qualify for the Champions League]. In this moment I think we are ready to achieve from third to seventh position but of course I am ambitious man. My chairman is ambitious. Maybe something could happen."
