Juve invite Prem offers for unwanted strikers

Juventus are looking to trim their top-heavy squad over the next few weeks with the club's general manager Beppe Marotta claiming they have too many forwards.

The Bianconeri have added Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente to their front line this summer, yet none of the four strikers who were rotated on a regular basis by coach Antonio Conte last season have left the club.

Alessandro Matri, Fabio Quagliarella, Mirko Vucinic and Sebastiano Giovinco are all swelling the ranks in the Juve attack, but Marotta says his club will not go into the season with all six, indirectly sending out an invitation to the likes of Norwich City, Liverpool and Everton to present their offers.

"Our attack is overflowing because it's too much to have six strikers of such quality," he told Sky Italia. "We want to reduce it to five, maybe including one youngster, and we hope to find a positive solution for us.

"We're analysing the offers, but what the players want is far more important than what we want as a club."

The Canaries have been linked with Quagliarella, who netted nine times last season, while the two Merseyside clubs could go head to head for Matri's services. Vucinic, Juve's joint-top scorer last term with 11 goals, has said he would only leave Juve for AC Milan. Giovinco is less likely to be offloaded, given his versatility.

Once one or two strikers have been sold, there will be no further departures from Juve this summer with Mauricio Isla now also happy to stay, according to Marotta.

"Isla is our player and we assessed how we could possibly replace him, but we were unsuccessful and he expressed his willingness to stay, so that chapter is closed," he said.

The sale of Arturo Vidal was never on the agenda, meanwhile. "We refused offers from top European clubs for him," revealed Marotta.
