Asmir Begovic is set to remain at Stoke after the Bosnian ended rumours about his future at the club.

Impressive displays have led the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United to be linked with the goalkeeper, and when Jack Butland was purchased from Birmingham in January, it appeared as though Begovic could be heading through the exit door at the Britannia Stadium.

However, he has now confirmed his desire to stay at Stoke and is focusing on the new campaign.

"I always tried to stay focused and not concentrate on outside things," Begovic said to the Sentinel. "You never know for sure in football what can happen, of course, but as far as I am concerned, I am happy things are settled.

"I am happy to stay and I am not looking for a move. It's where I see my future."

Stoke chairman Peter Coates meanwhile told the Sun that Begovic "will be our goalkeeper at the start of the season", and added that Butland may be loaned out.

"And I would think we'd be definitely looking to get Jack Butland playing somewhere next season where he can improve his game," he said.
