Tottenham nearing Soldado swoop

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Valencia striker Roberto Soldado, according to Press Association Sport.
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas recently confirmed he is interested in Soldado, 28, as he looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the start of the 2013-14 season.
The Spain international has a €30 million release clause in his contract and it is reported that Spurs are to meet that fee ahead of a proposed move to the Premier League.
Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has been quoted by lasprovincias.es as saying at a restaurant in La Patacona on Wednesday that the transfer is nearing completion.
"The agreement with Tottenham is total. A problem has arisen with the [player's] agents," he added. "[If it is resolved] he will go."
Soldado joined Valencia from Getafe three years ago and scored 24 goals in La Liga last season.
