West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Diego Lugano from Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal.

The Uruguay international, 32, found his chances limited during his two seasons with PSG due to injury and poor form following his move from Fenerbahce.

Lugano spent the second half of last season on loan at Malaga having been overlooked by former PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti.

"I am very pleased to join West Bromwich Albion for the next two years," Lugano wrote on Twitter.

"I'm doing something that has been missing in my career, playing in the Premier League, without doubt the most beautiful and competitive league in the world.

"The challenge is to match what West Bromwich achieved last season and trying to go a step further to reach European competitions."

A PSG statement read: "Paris Saint-Germain thanks Lugano for the professionalism he has shown throughout his contract and wishes him well in the English league."

Lugano, who was in attendance for West Brom's 1-0 defeat to Genoa on Thursday night, follows in the footsteps of another former PSG and Fenerbahce player, Nicolas Anelka, who has also been enticed to the Hawthorns.
