The Cesc Fabregas transfer saga continues

New Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino declared transfer targeted Cesc Fabregas must make the final decision on his future.

Fabregas has been long been rumoured to be heading back to the Premier League with champions Manchester United continually tempting both Barcelona and the 26-year-old with increasing bids.

The Old Trafford club are reported to have made a third bid amounting to £40 million, which they hope will finally break the impasse.

But speaking after Barcelona's 8-0 romp over South American club Santos, Martino said the decision to stay or go sat squarely with the Spain international.

However, the Argentine manager backed the club's stance that the exit of Fabregas was the last thing they wanted to see at the Nou Camp.

"I'm not thinking about Barca without Cesc," he told reporters. "I've talked to him, I've explained my ideas. He's one of the best in the squad, but there's also a part that he has to decide.

"If it depends on me, he'll stay, and I believe he will, so I haven't thought about who I'd sign to replace him yet."
