Barcelona vice-president: Fabregas will stay
Barcelona vice-president Javier Faus has waded into the Cesc Fabregas transfer saga by reiterating the club's determination to hold on to the midfielder.
The ongoing tussle for Fabregas continues to develop with the player's pursuers, Manchester United, reportedly offering the Catalan giants a third bid of around £40 million for the services of the 26-year-old.
That development was followed by the admission from Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino that Fabregas had "to decide" on his future.
But Faus was quick to again strengthen the Spanish champions' position that Fabregas, a player they brought through their youth system, would not be leaving the Nou Camp.
"It's a theme in sports. He has a contract, the club and the coach want him to stay," he told Sport.
"Come on, he will stay. The interest is real, but we have no intention of letting him go."
