Sinclair keen to leave City for good

Scott Sinclair wants to leave Manchester City on a permanent deal, rather than being loaned out.

The winger, who joined City from Swansea last August, is a target for West Brom, West Ham and Crystal Palace while Everton, Stoke and Newcastle have also been linked with him.

But while the Baggies are thought to want to borrow the 24-year-old on a season-long loan, a source told ESPN both Sinclair and City would rather he were sold.

City hope to recoup as much of the £6.2 million they paid as possible, and preferably sooner rather than later, while Sinclair, who was sent out on loan six times by Chelsea during his stay at Stamford Bridge, believes it is likeliest he can revive his career if he leaves the Etihad Stadium for good.

Signed on deadline day last summer, he only started two league games for the 2012 Premier League champions, both in September, and one other match in a dispiriting season.

Former manager Roberto Mancini, while always praising Sinclair's attitude, admitted the move had been a mistake.

And his replacement Manuel Pellegrini has signed another winger, Spain international Jesus Navas, clearing the way for the former Bristol Rovers man to go.

Despite his tough time in Manchester, Sinclair's fine form over two seasons for Swansea, where he scored 35 goals, helping them win promotion to the Premier League and then finish in mid-table, has ensured plenty of clubs are interested in him.
