Championship round-up - Watford thrash Bournemouth

Troy Deeney grabbed a hat-trick as Watford hit newly promoted Bournemouth for six to go top of the Championship. Gabriele Angella, signed from Udinese in the summer, scrambled the ball home to open the scoring for Watford after 13 minutes. Lewis Grabban levelled for Bournemouth on the half-hour mark from Ryan Fraser's cross. However Angella headed in his second on 53 minutes before Deeney netted a deflected effort three minutes later. Lewis McGugan then slotted in for 4-1 before Deeney fired in from 20 yards two minutes from the end, and added an injury-time spot kick to complete his treble.

Dan Burn came back to haunt his former club as his goal was enough to give Birmingham their first win of the season at Yeovil Town.

Derby County secured their first Championship win of the season with Chris Martin at the double in a 2-0 victory at Brighton. The hosts were ahead after 17 minutes through Leonardo Ulloa's header but Martin equalised ten minutes later before putting Derby in front soon after the restart from Kieron Freeman's cross.

Nick Blackman's penalty early in the second half, his first goal for Reading, earned the Royals a point at Bolton, who had taken an early lead through Darren Pratley's header.

QPR were held to a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. James Vaughan gave Huddersfield the lead from close range ten minutes from the break but Junior Hoilett steered in Yun Suk-Young's cross soon after.

In League One, Bradford beat Carlisle 4-0 after scoring three goals in nine first-half minutes. Mark Yeates grabbed the first on 20 minutes, firing into the top corner for his first Bradford goal, with Nahki Wells doubling the lead when he scored for the third successive game. James Hanson then stroked in from 18 yards to make it 3-0 just before the half hour. Gary Jones completed the rout by tapping in Wells' cross on 67 minutes.

Wolves raced into a similar lead at home to Gillingham, goals from Leigh Griffiths, Lee Evans and Bakary Sako putting them 3-0 up by the 31st minute before Griffiths added a penalty in the second half to complete the scoring.

In League Two, Jacob Blyth's 25th-minute header put Northampton on their way to victory at home to Newport County. Roy O'Donovan added a second three minutes later with Gary Deegan striking in the 84th minute. Conor Washington pulled one back but it was little more than a consolation.

Peter Murphy's late header for Accrington Stanley denied Portsmouth a first win of the season. Murphy found the net three minutes after the break with a curling strike but David Connolly struck twice to momentarily put Portsmouth in charge.
