Shankley would be 'turning in his grave'

QPR manager Harry Redknapp has launched a outspoken attack on Luis Suarez , claiming that former Liverpool manager Bill Shankley would be "turning in his grave" over recent events.

In his column in the Sun, Redknapp said that the way Suarez has behaved lately "is nothing short of a disgrace". He continued: "Loyalty and respect mean nothing to him. He doesn't care about the managers, team-mates and fans who have stood by him when he racially abused one opponent and bit another.

"He doesn't give a monkey's about Liverpool Football Club. He only cares about himself and getting his own way. I certainly wouldn't be cheering him if I was a Liverpool fan but football supporters don't care what you do as long as you're a good footballer. They would sing Saddam Hussein's name if he scored a few goals for their team."

Redknapp said that he experienced the same situation at Spurs when players started being difficult to try to engineer a move.

"It's happening now with six or seven at QPR," he said. "One player came into my office the other week and told me the club was ruining his life by making him stay. And he's being paid £60,000 a week to play in the Championship."
