2014 World Cup final ticket to cost £632
FIFA is expecting demand to rival Germany 2006 as tickets for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil went on sale on Tuesday, with a ticket for the final set to cost £632.
Fans are able to apply for tickets via FIFA's official website, with approximately 3.3 million tickets available for the tournament.
Prices to attend range from £58 (US $90) for a first round match to £632 ($990) to view the final, which takes place at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
If there are not enough tickets to fulfil demand, all applications made before October 10 will be entered into a random selection draw.
Any remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis on November 5, before a second phase takes place on December 8 after the official draw is made.
Brazilian citizens over 60 years old will be able to purchase tickets for as low as £15 ($23) - prices that will also be available to local students.
"It's always difficult to predict," FIFA marketing director Thierry Weil said. "But I truly believe that it will be more toward to what happened in Germany than in South Africa in 2010."
FIFA believe over 3.3m fans attended the World Cup in 2006, but first-phase ticket sales were much slower for the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
Host nation Brazil will open the tournament on June 12 in Sao Paolo.
