Holloway hit with FA charge

Ian Holloway has been charged by the FA in relation to his conduct after Crystal Palace's 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

Following the Premier League clash, Holloway spoke of his frustration at referee Mark Clattenburg's performance, stating that his side face a "long, hard season" at the hands of officials.

As well as his post-match comments, the Eagles boss entered Clattenburg's changing room to air his opinions - and as a result, the FA has decided to take action.

The governing body released a statement on its official website on Tuesday reading: "Firstly, it is alleged that Holloway's language and/or behaviour in or around the match officials changing room at the end of the game amounted to improper conduct.

"Secondly, it is alleged that Holloway's post-match media comments questioned the integrity of the referee and/or match officials and/or implied that the referee and/or match officials were motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute."

Holloway has until 4pm on August 23 to respond to both charges.
