ESPN FC's Des Curran and Steve Nicol discuss the reports of Tottenham's probable signings of Willian and Erik Lamela

Willian has reportedly completed a medical with Tottenham ahead of a proposed transfer from Anzhi Makhachkala, with talks ongoing over a five-year deal.

On Tuesday a source told ESPN that Willian was set for advanced talks with Spurs, with the deal - worth around £30 million - set to be completed in time ahead of Sunday's Premier League game against Swansea at White Hart Lane.

At his press conference for Tottenham's Europa League play-off against Dinamo Tbilisi, Andre Villas-Boas confirmed that the club have lodged an official interest in the player.

He said: "I can't really confirm anything regarding Willian. There is interest in the player and there have been conversations."

The completion of a deal to sign Willian could break Tottenham's transfer record for the third time this summer, with Paulinho and Roberto Soldado the two other big-money signings.

Villas-Boas has overseen a radical overhaul of the club's squad this summer which has also seen Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue arrive while Scott Parker, Steven Caulker, Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore, Clint Dempsey, David Bentley and William Gallas have all departed.

While Gareth Bale's future remains unresolved it appears Tottenham's spending remains unfinished with Roma's Erik Lamela and Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao also linked with moves to White Hart Lane, something Villas-Boas hinted at when he said: "We will see some new players in defence and attack."
