AVB on West Ham 'Wake up call'

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas believes his side's 3-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham was "a wake-up call".

Prior to Sunday's game, Spurs had only conceded two goals in the Premier League, while they had also claimed four wins from six games.

However, the North London side were taught a lesson by the visitors, who ran riot with with three goals in 13 second-half minutes, as Villas-Boas suffered the biggest home defeat of his reign at the club.

"It's a wake-up call that we have to react to, we have to bounce back and I trust the team to do that,'' Villas-Boas said.

"I think we can't undermine what we have been doing up to now. Obviously it's a defeat. It's something we don't like, but we have to put into perspective of what we've done before.''
