Chelsea made Laudrup enquiry

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has revealed Chelsea made an enquiry about his availability during the summer.

Speculation was rife as the new season approached that Laudrup, who guided Swansea to ninth position in the Premier League while securing the League Cup in his debut season, would leave the club.

And according to reports, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was considering Laudrup before bringing Jose Mourinho back for his second spell at Stamford Bridge.

Now Laudrup has confirmed outside parties had made contact about luring him away from the Liberty Stadium.

"Someone tried to know my availability through intermediaries, but there was nothing concrete," Laudrup said.

"Also, I had given my word that I would be in Swansea."

Meanwhile, 18-year-old midfielder Pau Morer has signed professional terms with the club.

The Spaniard had been training with Swansea's under-21 side since July but was unable to sign permanently until his 18th birthday.

"I am very happy," Morer told the club's official website. "I arrived here in July but, until now, I couldn't sign.

"I have been training with the Under-21s, but I am looking forward to playing in the games and helping the team. The next game is against Crystal Palace on October 21, so I am really excited for that."
