Juventus target January move for Vidic

Van der Sar: United fans will have to wait for success

Juventus are ready to end Nemanja Vidic's seven-year stay at Manchester United with the Italian giants planning an £8 million bid in January.

The Serbian defender's contract expires in the summer and he could leave on a free, with Barcelona and Monaco also reported to be monitoring the situation.

But the Italian giants do not want to risk losing out and will launch a bid in the New Year window.

Juventus believe 31-year-old Vidic can make a similar impact as Andrea Pirlo, who joined the club from AC Milan at the age of 34 in 2011 and has since led them to back-to-back Serie A titles.

Vidic has struggled to re-discover his best form this season after a series of knee injuries, and rumours have circulated that United manager David Moyes may be ready to let him go.

A source told The Sun: "We are not completely sure Moyes has total confidence in Vidic at the moment - and this can only increase the chances of him leaving United."

The newspaper also reports that Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is also on Juve's wanted list.
