Scotland do double over Croatia
Scotland ended their World Cup qualifying campaign on a high note with a 2-0 win over Croatia at Hampden Park.
Robert Snodgrass headed home from close range just before the half-hour mark. Barry Bannan then saw a 73rd-minute penalty saved but Steven Naismith netted the rebound as Scotland ensured they didn't finish without a home win in Group A.
Aaron Ramsey equalised two minutes from time as Wales snatched a 1-1 draw away to group winners Belgium, though they still finished bottom because of Scotland's victory. Chelsea's Kevin De Bruyne had opened the scoring after 64 minutes.
The Republic of Ireland came from a goal down to beat Kazakhstan 3-1 at home. Dmitriy Shomko gave the visitors a shock lead after 12 minutes, but Robbie Keane levelled from the spot soon after. John O'Shea then put Ireland ahead from six yards on 25 minutes before Shomko bundled the ball into his own net late on.
Northern Ireland came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Israel in Tel Aviv and finish fifth in Group F. Israel were ahead through Eden Ben Basat's header from 10 yards out on 43 minutes, but Steven Davis drew Northern Ireland level from the edge of the box with just over a quarter of an hour to go.
