West Brom manager Steve Clarke is desperate to tie down Saido Berahino to a long-term contract in a bid to stave off interest from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

Berahino has a year left on his contract at the Hawthorns, but his good form throughout the start of the Premier League season - which included scoring the winner at Old Trafford in a 2-1 win over Manchester United - has attracted the eye of several illustrious clubs.

According to reports in the Daily Mail, Berahino has already held talks regarding an improved deal at West Brom but Clarke fears the club could be priced out by the Premier League elite.

Berahino has scored five times for Albion this season and has also impressed at England Under-21 level, weighing in with four goals for the national side.
