Mourinho backs Torres to come good
Jose Mourinho has praised Chelsea striker Fernando Torres for his hunger to recapture his Premier League form.
Mourinho has been impressed with Torres in training and believes his attitude has been second to none. The Spaniard has made a swift recovering from a knee injury he suffered against Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League; which Mourinho believes was down to an improved positive attitude.
Torres made his last league outing in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham in September, where he impressed for 81 minutes before being sent off for a challenge on Jan Vertonghen.
However, Mourinho believes Torres will soon find his scoring touch in the league and has backed the 29-year-old to come good.
"I think Fernando is doing well this season," Mourinho told The Times. "He didn't score in the Premier League, but some matches he wasn't even on the bench as I left him out.
"He played very well against Bayern Munich [in the Uefa Super Cup] and he's playing OK. He was very proactive against Tottenham, very dynamic, the best people had seen for quite a long time.
"The fact he recovered so well from his injury is not about the medical department, but his feeling. He had the same feeling playing that game against Tottenham as you did watching it. He wants to be back.
"He knows important matches are coming. He'll come back good, and hopefully there'll be one or two goals. He will score. Normally strikers have to score goals, and he will."
