Keane: Ferguson doesn't know the meaning of loyalty
Roy Keane has hit back at Sir Alex Ferguson after the former Manchester United captain was one of many players targeted for criticism in the legendary manager's latest autobiography.
Keane, speaking on ITV ahead of Arsenal's Champions League game with Dortmund, said he was disappointed with Ferguson - who he believes should not have attacked the very players who helped bring him so much success at Old Trafford.
When immediately questioned by presenter Adrian Chiles, Keane said: "We had conversations about loyalty. In my opinion, he doesn't know the meaning of the word.
"I don't think the manager needs to do that. I'm not sure how many books he's written now - but he has to draw the line eventually.
"These players have all been top servants to Manchester United and a lot of these players helped the manager win a lot of trophies. We brought success to the club and we gave everything we had when we were there.
"Can you imagine what he would have said if we had never won a trophy?
"But it's just part of modern life now. People like to do books and criticise their former players."
Ferguson held a news conference on Tuesday to launch his book 'Alex Ferguson: My Autobiography'.
