Wenger blames naivety

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere believes the Gunners will 'bounce back' from their late 2-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Dortmund stunned Arsenal with their first defeat in Europe this season after Robert Lewandowski scored the winner in the 82nd minute.

But despite admitting Dortmund were too good on the night, Wilshere saw enough in the Gunners' performance to indicate the club would soon be back in the winners' circle.

"[Dortmund] are a good team," Wilshere told Sky Sports. "They came here and they showed that.

"They moved the ball around well, they are difficult to break down, but we had our chances - Santi [Cazorla] hit the bar and we had a few more.

"They hit us on the break and they nicked a goal, but it was a good goal and we'll bounce back."

Following the loss, Arsenal slipped to second position in Group F, Dortmund overtaking their rivals on goal-difference.

But with Napoli beating Marseille to also move to six points, Arsenal's path to the competition's knock-out stages, with away games to Dortmund and Napoli to come, has becoming increasingly problematic.

However, Wilshere is remaining calm, believing the logjam at the top of the group provides a clear plan on what Arsenal needs to do to progress.

"Very tight, very interesting," Wilshere described the group. "Napoli won tonight, which makes it even more interesting.

"We're all on six heading into the last three games, so it's all to play for and we know what we have to do now."

Wilshere could not see out the match after hurting his ankle in the match, the England international eventually being substituted for Santi Cazorla.

However, the 21-year-old allayed any fears he could again endure a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"I'm alright. I just jarred my ankle," he said. "I have done it before and it's painful for the first minutes or so, then you can run it off and I'm alright at the minute."
