United perfect for Januzaj - Giggs
Ryan Giggs drew upon his own experience of breaking through at Manchester United as a teenager to advise Adnan Januzaj he is at the right club to realise his potential.
The 39-year-old came through the ranks at Old Trafford to make his debut at 17 and has enjoyed watching 18-year-old Januzaj rise to prominence this season.
Januzaj signed a new five-year contract on Saturday and Giggs urged the midfielder, who scored twice against Sunderland on his full debut, to continue with the same approach and insists he will benefit from working with United's more established players.
"What I got told was just to carry on doing what I had been doing in the youth team and the reserves," Giggs said. "That is why you are in the first team. Adnan is a great lad. He wants to learn. He wants to get better. He wants to improve. That is great to see. He is a talent. As far as I am concerned he is at the right place."
Januzaj was linked with Manchester City and Juventus before signing a deal that will keep him at United until 2018.
Giggs added: "Having his future settled will help him. Obviously he can forget about that now and just enjoy his football. You have seen that in the last game [against Southampton] especially.
"He is enjoying being around the lads. He has enjoyed learning and training with the first team, just like I did at the same age. You learn so much. It is great for the other players to see someone like that. It gives you a lift as well."
Giggs also warned everyone not to expect too much too soon from Januzaj, saying: "Young players have dips in form. That is inevitable. At the moment you just let him do what he is doing and just enjoy it because everyone is enjoying seeing him progress."
