Visa issue holds up Cardiff's new head of recruitment
Alisher Apsalyamov is currently unable to work as Cardiff City's head of recruitment as the Home Office investigates his work permit situation.
Apsalyamov was controversially brought in to replace Cardiff boss Malky Mackay's right-hand man Iain Moody earlier this month, but the 23-year-old Kazakh - a friend of owner Vincent Tan's sons - is unable to carry out his duties at present.
There had been reports on Thursday that Cardiff had asked Apsalyamov to leave the role, but it is thought that he will retain the position until the Home Office is able to assess his visa documentation.
There had been speculation that Mackay would resign his post following Moody's removal, but he stayed on and has been promised final say over transfers.
