Juventus hit with stadium closure
The Juventus Stadium will be partially closed for Juventus' next two Serie A games as a result of insulting chants during Sunday's 3-0 win against Napoli.
The Curva Sud and Curva Nord will both be closed for the visit of Udinese on December 1 while only the south stand will remain closed for the clash with Sassuolo. The punishment, announced by Serie A, could be followed by a full stadium closure should there be more similar incidents at future Juventus games.
Nine occasions were counted by Serie A representatives in which Juve fans made chants of a geographically discriminatory nature. The club were already carrying a one-year suspended punishment following similar chants during the recent Serie A game with Genoa.
Furthermore, Juve have been ordered to pay a fine of €50,000 with an additional €10,000 owing due to the lighting of flares by their fans. Napoli have been ordered to pay €50,000 for throwing flares and fireworks at the home supporters, resulting in four people requiring first aid attention.
