Jose Mourinho will watch Rademel Falcao in action for Colombia on Friday as the Chelsea manager considers a British record £60 million move for the Monaco hitman in January.

Falcao only joined the French club in the summer, having snubbed several clubs, including Chelsea, to move to the tax haven.

But that will not stop Mourinho, who is eager to boost his striking options as he prepares for the second half of the season and an assault on both the Premier League and Champions League titles.

And with Falcao not cup-tied in Europe, it makes him the perfect candidate to lead the Blues' front line.

Chelsea spies have watched Falcao enjoy a blistering start to the season, in which he has scored nine goals in 13 games since moving from Atletico Madrid.

But Mourinho has concerns he is not being physically tested in Ligue 1 and will fly to Brussels on Friday to watch him for Colombia against Belgium's strong side.

The Chelsea boss failed to land Wayne Rooney and Robert Lewandowski in the summer before settling for veteran Samuel Eto'o - himself the subject of speculation, with ambitious MLS side Toronto keen to take the Cameroonian across the Atlantic.
