Along with being considered for the 2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or and the Puskas Award, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will achieve another "great honour" as of March 2014 - when his image is used on a stamp.

The Swedish postal service Posten confirmed the striker will appear on five different stamps - which will be commissioned on March 27 next year - while Ibrahimovic was delighted to announce the news.

The front man is currently away on international duty ahead of Sweden's World Cup play-off with Portugal, but could not hide his excitement over the project.

"I've got to be on a corner of the stamp and it will be fun to see the finished result," Ibrahimovic said on his personal 'Zlatan Unplugged' app.

"It's a great honour to be on a postage stamp, and I'm very proud to be selected. I get a lot of bills and there are rarely great stamps. Maybe that will change now!"

Britt-Inger Hahne, head of stamps at Posten, told The Local: "He liked the idea of co-operation as he thinks a lot about his fans like those who maybe can't read or write or have never received a postcard or sent a letter.

"Many young people had never read a book before until his came out. I hope that the stamps will achieve a similar thing.

"Zlatan was very positive about the project and picked all the pictures out which feature on the five different stamps. It is a great honour for him as not many people get their own set of stamps."
