Mancini slams Adebayor exit rumours

Roberto Mancini has dismissed suggestions that Emmanuel Adebayor could leave Manchester City this summer and says he only has a "small list" of potential transfer targets.
City are expected to have a busy summer in the transfer market and are reportedly in negotiations to sign Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, who has a £34 million buyout clause in his contract that expires at midnight on Monday.
With a new striker possibly on the way, the future of Adebayor has been the subject of some debate with reports claiming AC Milan have enquired about a player who scored 14 goals in 26 Premier League appearances this season.
But Mancini is adamant that Adebayor will be remaining at City, along with the rest of the club's key players.
"It is important to remember the squad we have is improving and most of the players have not been here for a long time," Mancini told the club's official website. "City supporters do not need to be worried about us losing our best players.
"In fact, the club has had no offers from any club for any of our players. In Emmanuel's case, he is a top player who can score lots of goals for Manchester City. I know he can improve and I am looking forward to working with him in pre-season."
With vast resources at their disposal, City have been linked with all manner of players including AC Milan's Alexandre Pato and Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovc, but Mancini has warned supporters not to believe the majority of reports surrounding the club.
"We know the players who we are interested in," Mancini said. "It is a small list of names, because I only want to bring in players who will improve the team.
"Of course we have various options and it is not easy and it is not always possible to do things quickly. We must be patient, and do the right things at the right time in the market.
"We know the value of the players we are interested in and will not be forced into paying more than we want to. Most of the players I read about we are not trying to bring to Manchester City."
