Moyes could capitalise on unsettled Iniesta

Manchester United manager David Moyes could make a shock swoop for Andres Iniesta as growing reports indicated the Barcelona midfielder is becoming increasingly frustrated at the Camp Nou, according to the Daily Mail.

Iniesta 'nearly missed 2010 World Cup'

  • He is one of the most integral members of Spain's dominant national team - and scored the all-important winning goal against Germany in the World Cup final.
  • But Iniesta very nearly didn't make the tournament, according to a new book by Graham Hunter, due to a thigh injury he had struggled with for 13 months.

Iniesta has carved out a reputation as one of the best creative midfielders in the game after spending more than a decade at the La Liga club, but is thought to be considering his options with his current deal set to expire in 2015.

Moyes spent much of the summer pursuing Iniesta's team-mate Cesc Fabregas, but may capitalise on the former Ballon d'Or runner-up's unease at Barcelona.

With United not afraid to spend - their pursuit of Fabregas and desire to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo indicate a willingness to strengthen - Iniesta could prove an astute target following Marouane Fellaini and Shinji Kagawa's struggle to settle at Old Trafford.
