Could the SAS partnership be broken?

Real Madrid are planning to launch a bid in January for Luis Suarez after it is being reported in Spain that the Liverpool striker has been offered to the club.

Marca claims the Uruguayan has been offered to Madrid, with which they headlined their story: "Suarez, back on the menu" to go along with their opening lines of "Real Madrid has what could be a very attractive Christmas present on the table. His name is Luis Suarez."

Suarez was keen to leave Liverpool in the summer, but the Merseyside outfit rejected two bids from Arsenal. The agent of Suarez, Pere Guardiola - the brother of Bayern Munich manager Pep - is also being reported to have reached a verbal agreement with Madrid in the summer.

The potential figure could be around £40 million, with Suarez making it onto Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti's wish list. Angel Di Maria is one of the players who could leave the Bernabeu in January, which may raise the required funds for Suarez after Madrid spent £85m on Gareth Bale during the previous transfer window.
