West Brom to open Clarke talks after Christmas
West Brom will open talks with Steve Clarke in the New Year about extending his contract at The Hawthorns.
Clarke was appointed Albion boss in June 2012 and steered the club to an eighth-placed Premier League finish in his first season in charge.
With his contract due to expire at the end of the current season, Albion sporting and technical director Richard Garlick confirmed Clarke was relaxed about discussions taking place after a hectic Christmas period.
"Steve is aware of our plans and has told us he is comfortable with the situation," Garlick told BBC Sport. "We have got an extremely busy period ahead, with important games coming thick and fast. Once the Christmas period is out of the way, we plan to sit down with Steve and discuss his future."
This is Clarke's first full-time role as a manager following stints as an assistant at Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool. Albion currently sit 10th in the Premier League table with 14 points from 11 games.
