Scunthorpe fans go nuts for Knill
League Two side Scunthorpe United have asked supporters not to dress in "squirrel attire" as former manager Alan Knill prepares to return to Glanford Park.
Knill, now in charge of struggling Torquay United, said he could have been killed when his bike collided with a squirrel in September last year and several Scunthorpe fans had planned to taunt him over the incident during Saturday's game.
Matthew Stephenson, a partner in the Celebrate fancy dress shop in the town, said he had sold a high number of squirrel costumes, tails and headsets in recent days.
He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I tried to order more stock due to the demand but unfortunately cannot get anymore until next week."
However, the club have said on their official Twitter account that they would prefer that fans did not wear squirrel-related costumes.
